Happy Lunar New Year 2018!

Lunar New Year 1

In honor of the Lunar New Year on February 16th, meet the final 3 Zodiac critters AND get a special deal on the whole set!

All 12 of my Zodiac animal patterns that I wrote in 2012 have now been tweaked, polished, and published. You can find all of the patterns for the whole set via the “Shop” button above, or, keep reading for an intro to the newest members of the gang, and an extra discount at the end of this post!

It’s been an ongoing project of mine since I started crocheting to publish my patterns for the Chinese Zodiac animals. The whole set has a huge variety of techniques, so it’s great for learning to crochet amigurumi. I’ve rated each one by difficulty as well on the introduction page of each pattern, so you’ll know which are a cinch and which are a challenge. Now, the set is finally complete! I hope you love them as much as I do! With that, let’s introduce the final three animals:

The Tiger

Lunar New Year 2

The tiger is the 3rd member of the Lunar/Chinese Zodiac. This tiger crochet pattern has instructions for the stripes on each part of the body, so they will always end up on the outside of the arms and legs and positioned correctly on the tiger’s face. This creates a striking stripe design with easy-to-follow color changes. The pattern also includes a tutorial for changing colors neatly!

The Horse

Lunar New Year 3

The horse is the 7th member of the Lunar/Chinese Zodiac. Horses come in a huge variety of colors, so the sky’s the limit when deciding what colors of yarn to use for this pattern! This horse pattern includes a tutorial for creating the mane and tail, and is very simple and easy to follow.

The Sheep

Lunar New Year 4

The sheep is the 8th member of the Lunar/Chinese Zodiac. This sheep pattern includes a special technique for creating these cute, woolly bumps so that the sheep’s body looks fluffy without using any specialty yarn! This amigurumi is especially near and dear to my heart, since I was born in the year of the sheep. Maybe I’m biased, but I think he might be the cutest of the whole bunch. Give this one a try, I am sure you’ll love the results. 🙂

You can find the rest of the Zodiac animal patterns individually in my Etsy shop, or you can also purchase the whole bundle here. Buying the whole set together saves you half off the price of each individual pattern! From now through the end of February, you can also save an additional 10% (on any of my patterns) in honor of the Lunar New Year by entering code: ZODIAC2018 at checkout.

Happy Lunar New Year!
